About Gujarat:
Gujarat, the
western-most state of India, is known for it’s vibrant.
Even today, the coastal towns and villages of Gujarat are
dotted with unique little Portuguese and Dutch-style
houses. Gujarat is known for its colorful people, whose
handicrafts are renowned all over India for their colorful
embroideries and hand-woven work. One of the most unique
terrains in India is found in the region of Kutch. The
only two Indus Valley Civilization ruins in India are
found in Gujarat at Dholavira in Kutch and Lothal near
Ahmedabad. The three most famous icons of Gujarat are
Mahatma Gandhi, the Apostle of Peace, whose Ashram on the
Sabarmati River is constantly visited by foreign and
domestic tourists, Lord Krishna, the god of love, whose
ancient temple at Dwarka is a source of great attraction
for tourists and the majestic Asiatic Lion which is found
in the Gir Forests of Gujarat. The cities of Gujarat such
as Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat are known for their
shopping and dynamic entrepreneurship. Modern Gujarat is
also famous for its national level institutions such as
the Indian Institute of Management, National Institute of
Design etc. |
